Tea Ceremony, "Sadou"

Tea ceremony, "Sadou," is not about just drinking matcha (finely ground powder of green tea leaves).  It is an integrated art of Japan including history, calligraphy, flower arrangement ("Ikebana"), cuisine, etc..  The most important thing in Sadou is to learn how to be considerate of others through entertaining your guests in tea gatherings. Why don't you be the guests and experience a tea ceremony at an authentic tearoom in MOA Museum of Art? Rental kimonos are also available (kimono rental charge: Yen 3,500 for a cotton kimono). The fee for the programme changes depending on the seasons, so contact us at Cooking Holiday in Izu for details.
